Global Womens Health Report

At Med•Studio, nestled in the heart of Minnetonka and Oakdale, MN, there's more than just a clinic. It's a sanctuary where women find solace and support amidst the tumultuous journey of peri-menopause, menopause, irregular periods, fertility concerns, and hormonal imbalances.

In this haven, stories unfold, tales of resilience and struggle, whispered between women who understand the complexities of their bodies. Today, this stories resonate with the echoes of a broader narrative, one that extends far beyond the walls of Med•Studio—a narrative captured in the latest Hologic Global Women’s Health Index.

A Tale of Uncharted Territories

The pandemic's shadow may have retreated, but its imprint lingers, especially in the realm of women's health. The Hologic survey reveals a sobering reality: despite the world's progress, women's health remains stagnant, if not regressing. According to the Year 3 survey findings, 36% of women disclosed undergoing high blood pressure tests within the past 12 months. The report shows that nearly 2 billion women did not receive high blood pressure screenings, encompassing over half a billion women aged 40 and above who are advised to undergo annual testing.

The Untold Tests

Imagine billions of stories left untold, lives untouched by screenings that could save them. In 2022, despite increasing reports of rising STD/STI cases in numerous countries since the pandemic, only 10% of women reported undergoing testing for such infections. This figure persists unchanged from prior years, placing nearly 2 billion women of reproductive age at risk of infertility, heightened maternal and fetal mortality rates, and severe illnesses associated with STDs/STIs.

The Weight of Emotions

Emotions run deep in this narrative, intertwined with the fabric of women's health. There's been a notable increase in feelings of sadness, anger, and worry among women compared to three years ago. Approximately four out of ten women reported experiencing significant levels of worry and stress throughout the previous day, while three out of ten felt sadness, and one out of four grappled with feelings of anger.

Battles Within

Within their bodies, battles rage—a silent symphony of pain and affliction. Physical pain and health issues become companions, overshadowing the simplicity of daily tasks. Close to one billion women, constituting one in every three surveyed in 2022, reported enduring significant physical pain for a substantial portion of the preceding day. Additionally, one in four women, totaling nearly 700 million individuals, disclosed facing health issues that hindered their ability to engage in everyday activities.

A Call to Arms

Amidst the sobering statistics detailed in this report, a resounding call for change and action reverberates. Within the halls of Med•Studio, women's voices resonate. Med•Studio emerges as a guiding light, illuminating the path toward progress. It is more than just a holistic medical sanctuary distinct from traditional medicine; it symbolizes the significance of women within our community—a reminder that their narratives hold weight. Together, they reshape the narrative, one story at a time, forging a world where women's health takes precedence.
