O Shot - What is it?

March 6, 2023

The O-Shot is a unique, innovative procedure that has been shown to alleviate symptoms of female sexual dysfunction, improving both your body's ability to have an orgasm and improve the quality of your orgasms.

The O-Shot® is a relatively new procedure that uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to rejuvenate the vagina and clitoris area. PRP treatments have been used for many years to help with everything from physical pain to wounds, broken bones, and more.

How the O-Shot Works

The procedure begins by using the patient’s own blood to draw off PRP through a specialized process, which is then injected into the vagina and clitoris area. The PRP helps to:

●      Regenerate new tissue in these areas

●      Increase sensation

●      Improve lubrication

●      Increase sexual desire

●      Increase arousal

●      Increase the potential for orgasms in women who have trouble achieving orgasm

●      Increase the quality, quantity, and intensity of orgasms

Fortunately, the procedure has very few side effects given its extremely non-invasive nature. Complications may include infections at the injection site, bruising or swelling around the injection site, and rarely an allergic reaction to components of the PRP.

However, most side effects will clear up after a few days or weeks. Overall, most patients report significant improvement in their sex lives with few, if any, complications or dissatisfaction with the procedure.

The O-Shot and Other Issues

The O-Shot can potentially help with more than sexual dysfunction — in fact, it’s been found that it can help with:

●      Incontinence

●      Lichen sclerosis

●      Lichen planus

●      Chronic pain from childbirth and mesh

●      Interstitial cystitis

If you suffer from any of these conditions and have found other treatments to be ineffective, the O-Shot may be right for you.

Be sure to talk to your medical provider about any potential risks and make sure you understand all possible outcomes before making your decision.
